To create an interface field

You can create an interface field using any of these methods:

Drag and Drop
  • In the Interface Mapper, drag a field from the COBOL Entry Point pane and drop it in either the Interface Fields - Input or the Interface Fields - Output pane.
Note: Interface fields created using the Drag and Drop method are automatically mapped to the originating field.
COBOL Entry Point context menu
  1. In the COBOL Entry Point pane, right-click the originating field and select New Input Field or New Output Field from the context menu.
  2. Define field properties as required; then click OK.
Interface Fields context menu
  1. In the Interface Fields - Input or Interface Fields - Output pane, right-click and select New Interface Field from the context menu. In this case, a default mapping is not generated for the new interface field. Therefore, be sure to map the new field manually.
  2. Define field properties as required; then click OK.
