Run the ACCT Application

Takes you through the steps necessary to start the ESACCT enterprise server region, access the region using the HACloud TN3270 emulator, initialize a VSAM file, and interact with the ACCT application.

Prepare to run the ACCT transaction

Here you start up the enterprise server region, start the Host Access for the Cloud TN3270 emulator, and initialize the database.

Start the ESACCT enterprise server region
  1. In Eclipse on the Server Explorer view, expand Local [localhost:10086] > Default [127.0.0.1:86].
  2. Right-click the ESACCT server, and select Start from the context menu.
Note: You might be prompted with an Enterprise Server Sign On dialog box, prompting you to provide connection details for the ESACCT server. This is a standard security dialog box. Click OK without specifying any sign-on details. Also, if prompted to disable password recovery, click No.

In the Server Explorer, you can see that the icon for ACCT has changed to indicate that the region has started.

Open Host Access for the Cloud
With the enterprise server region started, you can now run the ACCT transaction and interact with it via the TN3270 Mainframe display:
  1. In Server Explorer view, right-click the ESACCTSV enterprise server region; then select Show TN3270 Display from the context menu.

This starts the Host Access for the Cloud in your default browser and connects it to the ACCTWEB application running on the ESACCTSV enterprise server region.

Initialize the ACCTFIL VSAM File
Before you can run the ACCT transaction, you need to initialize its VSAM file.
  1. In Host Access for the Cloud, press Ctrl+F2 to clear the CESN login screen.
  2. Enter CFCR ACCTFIL.

If this is the first time you have run a CICS tutorial, you should see a message indicating that the ACCTFIL VSAM file was created successfully. Otherwise, the message explains that the ACCTFIL file already exists.
